Jennifer Hudson, an American Idol finalist emerge as the best supporting actress for the movie Dreamgirls in the recently concluded 64th Golden Globe Awards. Jennifer auditioned for the role of Effie together with the 783 hopefuls, that includes last year’s American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino. But unfortunately Fantasia’s lucky moment is not for the Effie role in Dreamgirls and this time Jennifer prevailed.
Hudson frequently compared to Jennifer Holliday, the original Effie onstage who became a Broadway sensation for the showstopper “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going”. And maybe that is why she got the role and she did her best and though she is a newcomer talent but still she landed the Golden Globe Award for the Best supporting actress for her first movie ever Dreamgirls. Hudson says “I’m glad to be here” (in Dreamgirls).
But there is a rumor about Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson fight while they were shooting the movie and maybe that is why at the Golden Globe Award’s night Beyonce’s face wasn’t that happy after Jennifer Hudson’s name was called as the winner for the Best Supporting Actress.
